This is my favorite picture of my family as I was growing up. I was five at the time.
That's me on the far left. This is about the time I began to love reading and writing.

Here's some interesting trivia about me as a young girl:
As a young girl Collett dreamed of becoming an astronaut, voyaging across the Milky Way in search of exciting new places. Though she never trained at NASA or rode in a space shuttle, she did travel the continental United States, exploring its wonders. By the time she was 22 years old, she and her family had moved to over 40 different cities for her dad’s job. All that relocating enabled Collett to become a very outgoing and friendly person.
Because Collett spent a lot of time in the car travelling from one state to another, she had a lot of free time to feed her hunger to read. Some of her favorite childhood books include the Frog and Toad series by Arnold Lobel, Where the Wild Things Are from Maurice Sendak, Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree, the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories by Carolyn Keene, and Lloyd Alexander’s Chronicles of Prydain series. She still has most of these books in her home library.
Collett was born in Bagdad, Arizona and currently lives in West Jordan, Utah. Occasionally, she still gazes skyward, dreaming of travelling through space to visit strange new worlds.
